Mercedes A and B Service

What You Need To Know

If you’ve recently purchased a Mercedes, you’re in for a treat. Few vehicles are as fun and as smooth to drive. You’ll need to familiarize yourself with the Mercedes repair schedule to make sure your vehicle is in good condition and to keep its warranty intact. Here’s what you should know about Mercedes A and B services.

Mercedes A Service

Mercedes A Service should happen at approximately one year or 10,000 miles into your ownership (whichever comes first). Your vehicle’s Flexible Service System will send you a notification once it’s time to take it into the shop. After the first service, all future A Services should occur approximately every two years or 20,000 miles. The following services will be performed during your appointment:

  • Tire inflation check (and corrective action as necessary)
  • Replacement of synthetic motor oil
  • Maintenance counter reset
  • Oil filter replacement
  • Checks and corrections for all fluid levels as recommended for your vehicle’s model and year
  • Brake inspection

The repair shop conducting the A Service should mark off a checklist in your owner’s manual to make sure all services are performed as required.

Mercedes B Service

Mercedes B Service includes some of the same things included in the Mercedes A Service. The first B Service should happen at approximately 20,000 miles (or one year after your last A Service). Your Flexible Service System will indicate the exact time B Service should be performed. Here’s what B Service includes:

  • Brake fluid exchange
  • Replacement of synthetic motor oil
  • Maintenance counter reset
  • Tire inflation check (and corrective action as necessary)
  • Oil filter replacement
  • Inspection of brake components
  • Fluid level checks and corrections
  • Cabin dust filter replacement

This checklist is for regular Mercedes vehicles that run on gasoline. Keep in mind that diesel vehicles require different services. Your Flexible Service System will indicate what services are necessary for your diesel vehicle.
